Pessimists are often right

Words I like: Optimists are wealth creators. Pessimists are misery predictors. Regardless of which side of the fence you think you're on, you'll always be right.

If you think you're bad with money, every financial loss you face will reaffirm your belief.

If you think you're great with money, even the smallest financial gain will push you to make more bank.

Mojo Memo: The only way to win at life is to be an Optimist.

Most working professionals don't invest because they fear losing money.

"What if markets crash, and this is a bad time?"

"What if I need this money to do something bigger?"

"What if I invest wrongly, and never recover?"

The reality is you're creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. Because guess what?

  • Markets crash at least 3x a year.
  • You will have bigger goals to work for.
  • Your fear and distrust will make recovery painful.

You're deliberately making your life harder to live.

An Optimist doesn't engage in such negative self-talk.

An Optimist learns financial literacy so they only work with facts.

An Optimist is driven by bigger goals and succeeding at life, not terrified by it.

The Solution: Be an Optimist.

How to Become One:

  1. Everytime you catch yourself in a negative thought spiral, consciously thank your mind for sharing this with you and think of the complete opposite immediately after.
  2. Educate yourself on financial planning and investing, so you build a system to manage and grow your money confidently.
  3. Swap your nightly doomscroll with 3 quick bullets in your journal highlighting what you're grateful for in your present day. It could be as simple as the tea you enjoyed.
  4. Say thank you every time you earn or spend money. The more you circulate money, the more it'll move in your favour towards your goals.
  5. I can't stress this one enough: Actively find optimists to surround yourself with. I recently made the most optimistic friend, and I can't tell you how much this has impacted my self-confidence already.

Why this Works:

You're teaching your mind and money to work with you and for you, not the other way round.

You're creating a new self-fulfilling prophecy, as optimism increases the more skills and knowledge you gain.

The world really IS your oyster if you simply tune out the bad noise, speak to yourself kindly, do the right things with your money, and surround yourself with the best people you can find.

Real Example:

I told you I made a new friend recently. Not one single complaint in over 6 hours of conversation. I couldn't believe it!

Here I was sharing my limiting beliefs and fears thinking these were topics to bond over, whereas he spun every one of my fears into positives, and turned them into excitement for what could and will be - if I just chose to be more of an Optimist.

His wealth is a reflection of his mind:

  • Investments compound quicker as he increases his automated investment amounts every year.
  • Financial opportunities land on his lap, as he simply focuses on his input, not output.
  • Lifestyle is full of fun and adventure, as he chooses what to focus on!

Being an Optimist works. Exceptionally well.
